Then one scorcher of a day in August (middle school, as I recall), a thresher shark showed up when he caught the attention of the local police. They all bought this lie, of course, only one of the ugly kids hed teased had ratted him out. Shocker, right? Next thing you know our puritan principal summoned him and the cops and when the boys in blue arrived, they cuffed him like hed pinched every girls pink bum in the yard.

I sat there mumbling and trembling in Ms. Needles math class thinking I was next on the hit list. Had I overheard the words search warrant? And that odd scent that one of the cops dragged with her. A dead animal? No not quite. It reeked of a dead human.

Truth be told I was more worried about my secret stash. Theyd steal my porn stash and take Suzanne Somers away from me forever, I was sure of it. Asses would sting (mine) and if not by Dad than surely that sharkey cop with the razor-thin mustache whose last name sounded an awful lot like thresher.

Your Kindle has a lot of potential as an entertainment device. It also has a lot of potential as an educational resource for adults and younger people a like. It does have some productivity functions and, though they are limited, they may still be useful.

Hooking Up to Stereo Speakers

This was covered briefly in a previous chapter, but here are some tips you can use to get the best possible sound out of your Kindle Fire HD. Because you can access your entire Amazon music collection on the device, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t go ahead and use it as a music player by attaching it to your stereo.

External Speaker Options

There are plenty of different options for external speakers for your Kindle Fire HD. Some of them are very small devices intended to give you a bit of a boost in sound performance. Because the Kindle Fire HD has very good speakers on it already, these may not be worth the money to you.

A standard set of computer speakers provide excellent sound, particularly if the set includes a subwoofer. To use these speakers, plug the 1/8 jack on the speakers into the Kindle Fire HD’s headphone jack and you’re ready to go. Adjust the volume on the Kindle and the speakers until you get the right volume with no distortion. Too high a volume on the Kindle and too low a volume on the speakers will cause distortion.

How to Import Products Directly from Oberlo’s Website

Once you install Oberlo, you will be able to import products to your Shopify profile in one of two ways. These two ways include choosing from products on Oberlo’s website, and choosing products from AliExpress’ website. We will go through how to import products from both sources. To import products from Oberlo’s site, start by typing the type of product for which you’re looking into Oberlo’s search bar. From here, you will be taken to a list of products that matches your search’s query. Next, click on an item that interests you and that you’d like to feature on your site. Next to the product’s photo on the right-hand side, you will see a green button that says, “Add to Import List”. Click on this button, and then you can continue looking for other products that you’d like to add to your online store.

Once you’ve found a couple of products and have added them to your import list, the next step is to import them into your site. To do this, hover your mouse over the second menu icon on the left-hand side of the Oberlo menu. This icon is underneath of the icon of the graph. Choose the option that says, “Import List”. This will take you to a page where all of the items that you’ve added to your import list can be seen. From here, you can change the descriptions of your products so that they’re uniquely yours. You can also choose the collection that you’d like to see them in on your Shopify site, as well as add some keyword tags that might be helpful in generating interested individuals to your site.

Venue Shots

It’s best to do this as soon as you arrive, as it’s nice to get this shot without guests in the frame. Walk around the whole building and take a few images from different angles to see what works best.

As well as a wide shot of the outside, make sure you get a wide angle of the empty interior and detail shots such as the flowers on the pew ends, the hymn list etc.

Portrait of the Groom and Groomsmen

I try to get a photo of the groom with the groomsmen as soon as possible after I arrive. This is because all the ushers will have jobs to do and will need to go in different directions - and if it is a civil wedding ceremony the registrar will also need to take the groom away to do a ten minute interview fairly early on. As guests arrive the groomsmen will be busy handing out the order of service, which would be much harder to interrupt. So if you spot or can create an opportunity for this photo shortly after you arrive, do seize the initiative!
